Charles Noakes, Para-Badminton Athlete 🏸
A native of Nantes and passionate about sports from a young age, Charles discovered badminton in middle school. He was quickly noticed for his talents, but also for a disability related to his height. A former coach, Philippe Molé, suggested he try para-badminton, and that's how Charles joined this category. In 2018, his para-athletic adventure began, and since then, Charles has continued to progress, winning numerous medals in major international competitions. A year after his debut, he won a silver medal in singles at the French Championships.
In 2023, Charles shone with medals in various international tournaments, including the Spanish, Brazilian, Thai, Canadian, and Japanese Opens, as well as the European Championship.
Ranked among the world's top four and the European number one in his category, Charles secured his Paralympic qualification last February thanks to his first world medal in singles and is now preparing to win gold at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Beyond the courts, Charles is actively involved in raising disability awareness. As a sponsor of a school for over four years, he regularly speaks at educational institutions to share his experience and promote the benefits of sport on health.
