Staffmatch continues its development and is firmly positioning itself on the path to sustainable development by integrating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at the heart of its HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) service. On the occasion of World NGO Day, Staffmatch takes stock of its commitment to the United Nations Global Compact.
Global Compact and the Sustainable Transformation of Businesses
The United Nations Global Compact calls on companies around the world to align their operations and strategies with ten universal principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption, and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) derived from UN texts.
Here are the ten principles of the Global Compact:
Human Rights:
Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labour:
Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour;
the effective abolition of child labour; and
the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Environment:
Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and
encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Anti-Corruption:
Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
"These principles represent a global framework for companies wishing to align their practices with high ethical standards and thus contribute to sustainable development."
These principles, ranging from upholding human rights to combating corruption, provide a solid foundation for companies committed to creating a positive impact on society and the environment. Staffmatch recognizes the importance of these principles in its journey towards a more sustainable future.
