  • Checking the condition of equipment and ensuring it is ready for use: This will help maintain the quality and efficiency of operations.

Skills and training

To become a Kitchen Steward, there is no mandatory specific diploma. However, some diplomas may be beneficial, such as:
CAP Cuisine (Vocational Certificate in Cooking) CAP Agent Polyvalent de Restauration (Multi-skilled Catering Agent) These qualifications help acquire the basic culinary techniques and kitchen practices. While not essential, they provide good preparation for the role.
It is also recommended to follow a training course in HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) for Food Safety and Hygiene, which is essential to ensure food safety in a kitchen environment. This additional training helps to master hygiene practices and prevent health risks.
In terms of experience, no prior experience is required to start as a kitchen steward. However, previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant is a plus, as it allows you to better understand the kitchen organization and workflow. These qualifications and prior experiences help familiarize you with the demands of the job but are not always necessary to begin.
Salary:
